Botox Injection Aftercare Instructions and Guide

As we know that the BOTOX is a cosmetic procedure and it has not lasting effects and there is also no true recovery period of this procedure as compared to other surgical or plastic surgery which require weeks or even months for complete recovery but some of them have permanent results. The overall time needed to complete the procedure is 10 to 15 minutes and once the procedure is performed the patient can leave the surgical site immediately if they are not going to have any medication or further injection.

Some doctor advised their patient to sit upright for 5 minutes after that they can leave. A patient should not lay down flat for several hours after the procedure. Before leaving the site of procedure a patient should look for any adverse reaction on his/her facial skin, if yes then patient should inform doctor about it. A patient should attempt to contract his/her injected muscles in order to check them because they must not be contracted after the procedure and if they will contract then it is a pure sign that the procedure is not done successfully.

Sometimes the injected toxin moves to other un-targeted group of the muscles which in results causes unwanted affects like dropping of eyelids etc. The bad news is that there is no specific treatment for these unwanted effects and they will be remained for 4 months. A patient also feels the pain of injection but it will be reduced itself after sometime.

Sometimes the treated area also becomes swollen, tender or red. If these signs not vanish within the twenty four hours a patient should concern this issue with the doctor because it might be indication of some kind of infection or allergic reaction. Other signs like itchy rash, shortening of breath, widespread and swelling can also be possible after the operation if they occur then immediately consult to medical person because these might also be signs off severe reaction.
