Gates McFadden Biography

Gates McFadden is an American Choreographer and actress; she had done many notable roles in her career. She was born in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio US on March 2, 1949. She commenced her studies from Brandeis University and earned a degree in Bachelors of Arts and later she moved to Paris and studied Theater.

Gates started her career from “Star Trek the Next Generation”, and then in a film “The Dark Crystal” as a choreographer, she also directed the choreography and puppy movement in “Labyrinth-Dream child”. From all this, she was well known from her work in choreography and later she appeared in “When Nature Calls” and another in “The Cosby Show” in its Season 3. Her post production cut scenes are in a movie “The Hunt of Red October”.
Gates was known by her character in 1987, Dr. Bravely Crusher on “Star Track: The Next Generation”. She recruited her role for all four “TNG” movies and she also gave her voice for PC games “Star Trek: A Final Unity- Star Trek Generations”.

Gates had done many additional television work in a comedy and as well as in sitcoms and had done commercials for Microsoft. She married to John Tallbot and the couple had a child. Gates was now teaching at several universities and is currently listed as an addition faculty member in the School of Theater at the University of Southern California. She is currently the artistic director of the “Ensemble Studio Theatre” in Los Angeles.
