Illeana Douglas Biography

Illeana Douglas was a multi talented actress, screenwriter, director and producer born in Quincy US on July 25, 1965 and was 45 years old. She was the only daughter of her parents. Her father was a painter Gregory Hesselberg and mother was a housewife. In 1983, she completed her graduation at the age of 18 and then her parents got divorced. She was also called llleana Hesselberg. She had two brothers Stefan Gregor and Erik Hesselberg .One of his brothers was an editor of River & Shore, a Connecticut quarterly magazine.

Douglas’s parents were also actors and her step grandfather was an author James Benjamin Aswell Jr., her parental great grandfather was Latvian who was born composer and Pianist Edouard. She was Italian descent from her mother’s side.

Douglas was the companion of director Martin Scorsese from 1989-1997. On 16 May 1988, she got married to Jonathan Axelrod who was producer and writer by profession and was the stepson of George Axelrod, later they divorced in 2001. She worked on some television episodes from 1998-2007 such as: Seinfeld, Action, Drew Carey, Six Feet Under, Shark, Ugly Betty. She also worked for web television in 2008-09 “Easy to Assemble”.

Douglas was known for her role in Martin Scorsese’s Cape Fear in 1991, in this film she has appeared in her starring role as singer and songwriter. In Walt Disney World Resort in Hollywood Studios theme park she played an Aerosmith’s manager role in the preshow video “Rock n Roller Coaster” attraction, later appeared in Aerosmith’s music video.
