Rita Moreno is an actress, singer and dancer by profession from Puerto Rico. Her name at the time of her birth was Rosa Dolores Alverio. Her father named Paco Alverio was a farmer by profession and her mother whose name was Rosa Maria was a seamstress. She was born on 11th December 1931. When she was only five years old her mother took her to New York. Her stepfather’s name was Edward Moreno. At the young age of eleven, she began giving her voice for Spanish translation of American films. She began learning dance when she was very young.
At the age of 13 she got her first role in a Broadway. The name of the show was Sky drift and the name of her character was Angelina. Her talent was discovered in this Broadway appearance. She was seen in a number of movies later on and since then her journey in the entertainment industry has come to no end.
She got married in the year 1965. Her husband’s name was Leonard Gordon. They both remain married until Leonard’s death in the year 2010. The couple has one daughter and they have two grandsons. Rita had a successful personal life and so was her professional life.
