Swoosie Kurtz Biography

Swoosie Kurtz is an American actress who had started her acting career from the theater but than she moved to the television and films. She started her acting career in 1970’s from the theater and from that time till now, she had worked in a number of television series and films. She had been nominated 10 times for various award shows but had won one of the most prestigious awards ‘The Emmy Award’.

Swoosie Kurtz was born on 6th of September in 1944 in Omaha in Nebraska. She is the daughter of Frank Kurtz and Margo. Her father was an Air Force Colonel whereas her mother is an authoress. She is the only child of her parents and she had never married.

She had attended the University of South California from where she received her degree in Drama. After completing her studies, she went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Swoosie Kurtz started her acting career at the age of 18 and for the very first time appeared on the ‘To Tell the Truth’ in which she introduced her father and the two imposters to the audience. After this her first debut was in 1975 from the theater revival play Ah, Wilderness!

After this, she appeared in many theater plays and than in 1978, she got lot of recognition from Uncommon Women and Others and a History of the American Film. After this, her career rose upwards and she never looked back and than she started getting roles in the television series and films and got a lot of recognition.
